Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Barnstable department adds to it.
How to apply
- For your convenience we have placed a mailbox in our front lobby for you to submit your paperwork and check for processing.
Fees and payment
- Please do not forget to remit your check and note your email address on your application.
- Please be sure to include a check, money order, or online receipt for the licensing fee in the amount of $100.
- Make all checks and money orders payable to TOWN OF BARNSTABLE.
Fingerprints and interview
- New license applicants will be required to come to the BPD by appointment ONLY to complete fingerprints and photograph.
