Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Charlemont department adds to it.
Appointments and hours
- To apply for or renew your Massachusetts L.T.C. or F.I.D., we hold public office hours every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.
- If you cannot make it to scheduled office hours, please leave a voicemail at the station and we will work to schedule appointments on a case-by-case basis.
Fees and payment
- Please bring your completed application and payment (cash or check made out to “The Town of Charlemont”).
Fingerprints and interview
- New applicants will need to be fingerprinted in person during public office hours.
