Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the East Longmeadow department adds to it.

Appointments and hours

  • Licenses are processed from 8 am-1 pm and 6 pm-9 pm daily.
  • The application process takes approximately 25-30 minutes to complete.
  • It is best to call ahead to schedule an appointment.
  • Walk-in applicants will only be accommodated if time and licensing personnel are available.

What to bring

  • Include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
  • Proof of East Longmeadow residence: MA driver’s license or ID with valid East Longmeadow address and utility bill

Fees and payment

  • These fees may be paid only in the form of a personal or bank check made out to the Town of East Longmeadow.
  • CASH IS NOT ACCCEPTED

Fingerprints and interview

  • A full set of inked fingerprints will be obtained from all first time applicants.
