Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Wenham department adds to it.

  • Payment in the form of a money order, cashier’s check, personal check, cash, or credit card can be made at the time of the in-person appointment.

  • FINGERPRINTS TAKEN BY THIS DEPARTMENT WEEKDAYS 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Processing time

  • The applicant will be notified, within 40 days.

Renewals

  • All applicants, for license to carry renewals, must complete and update an application form.
  • No upgrade will be approved until current license expires.
