Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Adams department adds to it.

How to apply

  • Once completed, you can either mail or drop off at the Adams Police Department, the completed application along with a Bank Check or Money Order (Made out to the TOWN OF ADAMS).

  • Please call 743-1212 ext.0 to make an appointment with an available Sergeant or designee, to come to the Adams Police Department to complete your application process.
  • We do not encourage walk-ins for this process, but by appointment only.

Fees and payment

  • Please make out a Bank Check or Money Order to the TOWN OF ADAMS for the above applicable fee

Fingerprints and interview

  • Your RMV photograph will be utilized for your LTC/FID card photo.

Renewals

  • You do not have to make an appointment for LTC or FID card renewals.
