Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Lee department adds to it.

Appointments and hours

  • The Administrative Assistant will then begin the process which will include a call back to set up an appointment to take your finger prints and interview with the Chief of Police.

Fingerprints and interview

  • Fingerprints required for first LTC or FID Card.

Processing time

  • The application processing time normally takes 8 to 12 weeks for to be complete.

Renewals

  • Drop off or mail in the completed renewal application to the Lee Police Department along with a check or money order in the amount of $100 made out to the "Town of Lee" (no cash).
  • Not required for renewals.
