Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Pittsfield department adds to it.

  • We do NOT accept CASH/Personal/Business checks/Card payments.
  • FID AGES 15-18 $25.00
  • FID RESTRICTED 15-17 $25.00

Renewals

  • Completed Application with Affidavit
  • Money Order made out to the City of Pittsfield: FID/LTC RENEWAL: $100.00 (over 70 - No charge).
