Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Bellingham department adds to it.

How to apply

The printed application, required documents, and payment may be dropped off at the Police Department.
Applications will only be processed after they have been submitted electronically through the Mass.gov portal.

Fees and payment

Personal checks, bank checks, and money orders are accepted for payment.
Please make checks payable to: Town of Bellingham.
No Cash or Credit/Debit cards are accepted.

Fingerprints and interview

Once a complete new application has been received and reviewed, the applicant will be contacted to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting and interview.
