Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Quincy department adds to it.

What to bring

  • A Massachusetts Safety Course Certificate with Certified Live Fire is required for all new applicants, prior to applying for an LTC or FID.

Fees and payment

  • The cost for any Firearms License is $100.00 and is payable via cash or check. There is no charge for renewal applicants 70 years of age or older.
