Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Bolton department adds to it.

  • Drop off or mail your completed firearms application to the Bolton Police Department.

What to bring

  • First time applicants must provide a copy of their Basic Firearms Safety Certificate or Hunter Safety Course Certificate.

Fees and payment

  • Licensing fee $100 check payable to the Town of Bolton.
  • Licensing fee $25 for FID applicants 15-18 years of age.

Fingerprints and interview

  • Upon receipt of your application the firearms licensing officer will contact you to arrange an appointment for the submission of your application to include fingerprinting and photo.
