Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Worcester department adds to it.

Appointments and hours

  • Due to the high volume of new applications, the License Division typically books appointments four months out.
  • Firearms Identification Cards (FID) and License to Carry's (LTC) are processed by appointment only.

Fees and payment

  • The License Fee is $100 payable by Cash, Check or Money Order (made out to the City of Worcester) (non-refundable).
  • Go to the Worcester Police Department's License Division to pay on the appointment date and time that you had selected.
