Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Hardwick department adds to it.

- All LTC/FID applications can be done by mailing it to the station or dropping if off.
What to bring
- New LTC applicants must provide a copy of their Handgun Safety course certificate.
- New FID Applicants must provide a copy of their Basic Hunter Safety course card.
Fees and payment
- Once you have submitted online, please mail or drop off your fee to the station.
- Your license will not be processed until we receive the fee (unless you are free).
Renewals
- Anyone renewing a license should plan on renewing it 3 to 6 months prior to the expiration of the license.
