Every town follows the same state process, in which you apply at your local department online through the MIRCS Unified Gun Portal or on paper, and the fee for most applicants is $100. The sections below show what the Oxford department adds to it.

How to apply

  • Completed applications may be returned to the police station (white mailbox to the left of the front door - drop box).

Fees and payment

  • Check or Money Order payable to the Town of Oxford in the amount of $100.
  • No cash will be accepted.

Fingerprints and interview

  • Applications will be processed and you will be contacted with an appointment to come in for fingerprints and/or pictures.

Processing time

  • All applicants should check with Deb Light on the status of their permits if not received within 6 to 10 weeks after fingerprints and pictures have been taken.
